The GardenerGrowing up in a large garden in Invercargill Bev always loved being outdoors, spending time in the parks & staying with friends in their country gardens. 10 yrs spent in Canterbury served to strengthen her interest, instilling in her a knowledge of not only plants but those which when combined will give softness of colour & a unique planting style.
St. Margaret's Country Garden began in 1991 with involvement in the first Trinity Garden Festival. Nearly 20 yrs on it is a tribute to her dedication, passion & ability to achieve a life long ambition. Over recent years Myra Shephard has shared the work load, new ideas & decisions made for the gardens future. Bevs husband Rex has been constant in his assistance with heavy work, lawn mowing & funding the garden projects. In the summer months often cooking his own meals.
Bevs long term plan is to provide a spacious & gracious garden to share with friends fellow gardeners & people who love the beauty & serenity of being in a garden to unwind from the hectic pace of modern life.
In private it is very much a family place for outdoor meals, games & fun with grandchildren. |
