The GardenThe Homewood property was bought and named in 1875. The homestead was built a year later and various owners have had an input into the development of this wonderful property. Many trees have been planted over the years, including the 40 year old Avocado trees that surround the property. The Homewood gardens include a formal entrance with a view of the harbour. A paved rose garden and rose arbour that leads down to the crabapple walk. There is a large productive potager and an orchard enclosed with hornbeam hedging. There is a lake project and a formal pond area under way at present. |
The GardenerJohn and I have lived at Homewood for 8 years .We started developing the garden 5 years ago as well as doing a major renovation to the house and cottage. I do the garden maintenance planting and propagating, while John helps out with hedge trimming, earth moving and larger planting projects. |
