The Garden

We have a large variety of plants in our garden, including bromeliads, palms, and daylilies even a few hostas. The flowering cherries look wonderful in the spring and I planted the rose ‘Alberic Barbier’ in an old plum tree and it looks beautiful in flower and I still get plums.

We also have several water features and one of them has two waterfalls into it and some lovely fish. I have included a few fun things in my garden so be ready to smile. There is also a fairy dell, pixie wall and a witch corner. Children love my garden too. This property will go on the market approximately in March 2011, expressions of interest welcome.

The Gardener

I have always loved flowers and gardens and when we moved to Kumeu I was able to create a large garden. I started with a cottage garden but that required a lot of work and I gradually changed it so it was very low maintenance and colour for most of the year. By using a lot of mulch I have very few weeds. Most of my plantings were done on an “It was a good idea at the time” basis. Some times it worked and sometimes it didn’t. A few plants got quite dizzy. I have a compulsion to pot up cuttings and seedlings so there are usually quite a few plants for sale. Lyndsay mows our extensive lawns and it takes a few hours with the ride-on mower but with the headset he listens to the radio to pass the time. Lyndsay also is very good at creating the water features and moving rocks.
