The Garden

This garden invites the visitors to wander quietly through many different windows of gardening. There are about 400 roses (which do not get sprayed) .They are intermingled with many perennials and other plantings. We specialise in roses and penstemons but also have rhododendrons, vireyas, magnolias, natives, native grasses, woodland areas, borders and much, much more. Trees provide lots of shade as you wander down the slope to our pond, with frogs, goldfish, ducks and occasional pukekos. We are lucky to have tuis all the time now. There is a view worth coming for which one can just sit and enjoy.

There is always something worthwhile seeing during the four seasons.

The Gardener

In 1986, we bought a farm paddock that had cows, grass, gorse and a swampy area and not a single tree. We had big dreams...so we worked hard in our "own personal gym" developing this garden to become what it is today. We have moved thousands of wheelbarrows to create what you will enjoy when you come. Neville's been the visionary designer and created a relaxing environment which always has more to see round each corner. His favourite place is sitting with a good wine (and of course, Wendy) on the deck overlooking the lush tropical garden. Now that it is mostly developed, Neville makes time for golf and Wendy paints in oils & acrylics. Any fruit in the orchard is also there to be shared.
