The Event

A must-see event for any garden lover, Auckland’s annual Heroic Garden Festival returns for its 23rd and final year on February 16th-17th. This year’s festival will feature gardens located in Central and Eastern Auckland.

The weekend appeals to a wide variety of gardening enthusiasts, from those who appreciate the technical mastery on show to those who simply enjoy a day out exploring the beauty of each garden. A highlight of the event is the garden owners being on hand to chat with visitors and pass on insights, advice and information.

Popular with both locals and out of town visitors, festival goers can opt to self-drive and visit the gardens in their own time or join one of the guided bus tours. Fully catered, with knowledgeable and friendly tour hosts and the opportunity to meet fellow enthusiasts, the bus tours are always a popular option.

There is also a fantastic gardeners day out at the Heroic Garden Party on Friday 15th February at Mercy Hospice at 61 College Hill in Ponsonby with discounts for groups of more than 10.
