Welcome to the Powerco Taranaki Garden Festival 2018!

Taranaki bursts into Spring with the Powerco Taranaki Garden Festival running from October 26th - November 4th 2018. The annual ten day garden festival is a spring celebration of glorious gardens and events. Showcasing some of New Zealand's most stunning gardens.

Our programme for 2018 is a fusion of some of the greater pleasures of life:

  • 40 glorious gardens
  • An award winnning floral designer - Vanita Patel
  • An internationally acclaimed chef - Ben Shewry
  • The award winning Juno Gin - take a distillery tour or taste at Holyoake Garden
  • Enjoy a wine tasting with award winning Esk Valley Wine at KenKora

As well as other tantilising events combine to make up a delectable serving of enjoyment for all ages.

Taranaki is a place with a mountain as its heart – Mount Taranaki has a ring plain of rich volcanic soil, patterned with hundreds of rivers and streams. Many of these waterways flow into the Tasman Sea, which pounds Taranaki’s vast stretches of rugged coastline. It is also one of the only places you can surf and ski in the space of one day!

Due to our warm temperatures, high sunshine hours and good rainfall, gardens and parks flourish in our region. As a result Taranaki has some of the best public and private gardens on offer in New Zealand, including more Gardens of National and Regional Significance than any other region.

Festival visitors can experience a diverse events programme, an exclusive landscape design project, guided walks, a garden speaker series and more!
