Taranaki bursts into Spring with the Taranaki Garden Festival running from 1 - 10 November 2019. The annual ten day garden festival showcases some of New Zealand’s most stunning private and public gardens and inspiring events.
Our programme for 2019 is a fusion of some of the greater pleasures of life: gardens, art, food and events combine to make up a delectable serving of enjoyment for all ages.
Festival visitors can experience a diverse events programme, guided walks, a garden speaker series and more!

Opening and closing hours for each garden vary and these are listed in the programme.
Garden sizes vary from smaller urban gardens to expansive rural settings and everything in between!
GARDEN ENTRY IS BY TICKET
Each garden is $5, $10 or $15. Tickets are sold in $5 denominations Children 12 and under, free.
During the festival you can purchase tickets from The Festival Hub at the West End Precinct, Courtyard, White Heart Hotel, Cnr Devon St West and Queen Street.

There is parking available at the gardens in our festival. If you are bring a large coach or vehicle please check with the festival or the gardener first. Further information is available in the programme.

Some of the public gardens have café facilities, some private gardens offer tea and coffee. Check the programme for more details.
Taranaki has a wide range of eateries to choose from.
The public gardens in our festival welcome visitors to bring their picnics and enjoy their lunch. Contact private gardens in advance.
Not all gardens in the festival are wheelchair or mobility scooter friendly. Check for the wheelchair friendly symbol in the programme.
Generally dogs are not permitted in the private gardens, other than assistance dogs. Some of the public gardens listed in our programme do allow dogs to enter them if on a lead. Please contact the individual gardens in question to check on their policy.
Children 12 and under are free at this family friendly festival.
Accommodation in Taranaki during the time of the festival gets booked up fairly quickly. To avoid disappointment, we suggest you book early. There is plenty of choice available throughout the region.
